ZODIAC is a visualization solution suited for all forms of data based on a structured grid systems (n number of variables based within an X,Y,Z coordinate system). The above examples present data sets collected with ground penetrating radar (GPR) and geo-electric measuring instruments pertaining to non-destructive archaeology.

ZODIAC research began in 2003 with Munigua, a Roman site in southern Spain under the direction of Dr.Schattner of the Deutsche Archäologische Institut in Madrid (DAI, German Archaeological Institute). A number of modeling methods were explored. In 2004 a scientific method was discovered. Today an algorithm properly sorts and builds the 3D file used for real-time visualization.

The 3D tomography approach to exploring archaeological sites is powerful and should supersede any destructive archaeological means of investigation. ZODIAC is a tool used to plan excavations, archive sites, support applications for future research grants, exhibitions & publications and forensic reconstruction of sites.

ZODIAC is a medium between abstract numerical data sets and their representation. The work-flow allows us to 3D print and CNC mill physical models, adding depth to the hidden layers of near surface anomalies.
